Who are
you people and what are you doing?
We are a bunch of
left-of-center folks who like making stuff. We
get together once a month or so to hang out,
show off stuff we made, eat, gab, laugh, gossip,
share advice and generally have a good time. The
Bad Girls of Craft is the San Diego areas' gathering for local craftsters of all types, and is open to
everyone.
You can check out some of
our websites here.
When is
the next meetup? Are we still on?
The next meetup
time will always be posted on this site on the
homepage here. If the event needs to be
cancelled or changed for some reason I'll post
it here and e-mail everyone on the list.
We generally meet the
fourth Tuesday of every month.
Do I need
to RSVP?
Yes, PLEASE
PLEASE RSVP and let me know if you will be
coming. I need to know how many people are
coming for a few reasons. First of all, I
need to know so I can confirm our reservation,
if we have one. Second, I
need to know if there are enough people to
justify the meeting. Third, it just stresses me
out not knowing what the heck is going on :-)
So yeah, please
RSVP, OK? And if you RSVP yes and things
change, please let me know you won't be able to
make it. It won't hurt my feelers I promise.
How do I
join?
Just shoot me an
e-mail at
nicole@astaarts.com with your name,
phone number, and
e-mail address and I will add you to
the list for future invites.
What
should I bring to the meetup?
Nothing special.
It's always fun to see what other folks make, so
if you can, bring some of your favorite
creations to show off so we can lavish you with
praise for your craftiness.
There are no dues
or fees, but please bring a few bucks to support
our meeting location by purchasing a beverage or snack and to
leave a tip as thanks for their letting us use
the venue.
How come you
call yourselves the Bad Girls of Craft?
Can't guys come to your get togethers?
Guys and gals
alike are both welcomed with open arms at any of
our events!!
Our group was
originally called the "San Diego DIY Crafters" -
not a name that exactly rolls off the tongue.
We started referring to the group amongst
ourselves as the "Bad Girls of Craft" - and the
name just kind of stuck. We had only ever had
two men attend our get-togethers, and both were
husbands/boyfriends - one of whom fell asleep -
so it made sense for us to just go ahead and
publicly use the name we were already using.
Besides it's way cooler sounding than "San Diego
DIY Crafters", don't you think?
We are just some
nice people who like to play with felt and yarn
and glue and stuff, and we are always happy to
meet any and all other nice people who do too. |
